Quebec Board Requirements
Professional Engineers
The continuing education requirements of the Ordre des Ingenieurs du Quebec (OIQ) are provided below:
CE Hours Required:
Minimum of 30 CE Hours/2 years
CE Reporting:
Biennial by April 15:
- You have until April 15 following the end of a reference period, which began on April 1, 2025 and ends on March 31, 2027, to report your continuing education activities in your OIQ Member Portal.
- Your report specifies the continuing education activities that you have taken during the reference period, their content and the number of hours accumulated.
- New members who register for the first time on the OIQ's roll starting in the 2025-2027 reference period must take a pro-rated number of continuing education hours based on the number of full months that have not elapsed during the reference period in progress.
License Renewal:
Based on Annual Renewal: You are required to renew your engineering license annually by March 31.
CE Categories:
The recognized activities that enable to accumulate continuing education units are the following:
- Participation to seminars, webinars, conferences, or courses activities which have no restriction on number of hours taken per reference period (this activity includes members learning and members presenting courses and presentations)
- Mentoring activities in which you cannot claim more than 10 hours per reference period
- Publications and articles activities in which there are no restriction on number of hours per reference period
- Participation to societies and services activities in which there are no restriction on number of hours per reference period
- Self-education activities in which you cannot claim more than 10 hours per reference period
- Professional Development Plan in which you cannot claim more than 1 hour per reference period

CEDengineering.ca is qualified to offer webinars and course activities.
Course Applicability:
All PDHs should be technical in nature.
CE Carryover:
The member who declares more than 30 hours of continuing education may carry over up to a maximum of 7 excess hours to the following period.

Professional Land Surveyors
The continuing education requirements of the Ordre des Arpenteurs-Geometres du Quebec (OAGQ) are provided below:
CE Hours Required:
36 credit hours over a rolling 3-year cycle
CE Reporting:
Triennial by March 31: You are required to submit your CPD Report by March 31 every three (3) calendar years.
License Renewal:
Annual by March 31: You are required to renew your license by March 31 of every calendar year.
CE Categories:
The activities recognized by the Order as continuing education requirements are as follows:
- Continuing education courses offered by the Order or by other professional orders;
- College, university or specialized institution courses;
- Conferences, congresses or participation in activities organised by the Order or other professional orders; (9 CPD)
- Presentation in the context of a conference or seminar on a subject related to the profession of land surveyor; (12 CPD)
- Writing and publication of specialized articles; (18 per Article, 36 per book)
- Various training sessions, including seminars, discussions of problematic cases and training sessions by representatives of companies whose activity is related to the profession of land surveyor;
- Participation in research projects (10 CPD)

Course Applicability:
Yous are responsible for comlpeting CPD activities that meet the criteria of the OAGQ.
CE Carryover:
No PDHs may be carried over into the next renewal period.
