CEDengineering.ca CPD courses are prepared in accordance with the NCEES CPC Guidelines and, therefore, comply with the rules of all Licensing Boards mandating Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements for licensed Professional Engineers.
Since launching our online CPD programs on February 14, 2007, not a single course was ever rejected by any Licensing Board. CEDengineering.ca focuses on CPD courses that is based on sound engineering principles. We target courses in various engineering disciplines to accommodate engineering professionals with diversified technical backgrounds. The selection of each course is based on its technical content and learning objectives intended to enhance the knowledge and skills of the engineer.
CEDengineering.ca continuing education CPD programs are designed with a “clear purpose and objective to maintain, improve, or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the licensee's field of practice”. Our courses are specialized in the field of engineering and cover a broad range of engineering topics. Our Online Courses, Video Presentations and Interactive Courses are also supplemented with a professional quiz process intended to evaluate the engineer’s understanding of the subject matter.
CEDengineering.ca consults with technical experts to review and evaluate CPD courses prior to publication online. Our technical experts consist of Licensed Professional Engineers serving in the capacity of technical advisors and/or subject matter experts. They assist in scrutinizing each course to ensure that its technical content is in compliance with sound engineering principles and its learning objectives are achievable by the engineer. When necessary, they consult with nationally recognized engineering associations and technical societies for further evaluation and feedback.
CEDengineering.ca CPD courses are supplemented with an online quiz required to be taken by the engineer. The course quiz is intended to evaluate the engineer’s effort in strengthening and maintaining his or her technical competency. The number of quiz questions is estimated based on the time required to review and complete the course material. The engineer is required to achieve a 70% passing grade. Upon successful completion of the quiz, the engineer will be issued a Certificate of Completion.
Upon successful completion of each CPD course, engineers are provided with an optional online course feedback survey. The survey is intended to assist our technical experts in determining whether revisions to the PDH and CEU course material are necessary to enhance their quality and effectiveness, as well as, to ensure that the course learning objectives are being met. Based on the feedback, we modify the PDH and CEU course material as necessary to improve the engineers' learning experience.
Furthemore, our technical experts periodically evaluate the technical content of our CPD courses to ensure they remain current. They also monitor new technical information through periodic research and follow-up with nationally recognized associations and company affiliations; consultation with members of professional societies and industry leaders; and subscription to technical publications and engineering periodicals. When applicable, our technical experts update the course content in accordance with the latest technological developments, scientific advancements and regulatory amendments.
