Manitoba Board Requirements
Professional Engineers
The continuing education requirements of the Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba are provided below:
PDH's Required:
At least 240 PDHs/3 years
PDH Reporting:
Annual by December 31: You are required to maintain and submit a detailed record of your professional development activities by the end of the calendar year.
License Renewal:
Based on Annual Renewal: You are required to renew your license annually by the end of the calendar year.
PDH Categories:
You cannot claim more than the maximum PDHs allowed annually in each of the six categories:
- Professional Practice: 150 PDHs/3 years (1 PDH = 15 Hours of Work)
- Formal Activity: 90 PDHs/3 years (1 PDH = 1 Hour of Learning)
- Informal Activity: 90 PDHs/3 years (1 PDH = 1 Hour of Learning)
- Participation: 60 PDHs/3 years (1 PDH = 1 Hour of Learning)
- Presentations: 60 PDHs/3 years (1 PDH = 1 Hour of Learning)
- Contributions to Knowledge: 90 PDHs/3 years (1 PDH = 1 Hour of Learning)
Categories Offered by CED:
CEDengineering.ca is qualified to offer Formal Activity.
Course Applicability:
All PDHs should be technical in nature under the Formal Activity.
PDH Carryover:
The Board currently does not provide any information regarding the number of PDHs than can be carried over into the next renewal cycle.

Professional Land Surveyors
The continuing education requirements of the Association of Manitoba Land Surveyors (AMLS) are provided below:
PDH's Required:
The number of credit hours will be determined based on the AMLS Review Committee's assssment of your Practice Review Questionnaire.
PDH Reporting:
Annual by June 30: You are required to maintain and submit a detailed record of your professional development activities by June 30 of every calendar year.
License Renewal:
Annual January 5: You are required to renew your license by January 5 of every calendar year.
PDH Categories:
The AMLS monitors your continuing competency through an annual review process, as follows:
- The committee shall prepare annually a questionnaire which shall be used to assess the continuing competence of Manitoba Land Surveyors.
- The Committee shall cause the questionnaire to be distributed to the practicing membership no later than June 1st of the current year.
- Each Manitoba Land Surveyor shall submit to the Chair of the Continuing Professional Competence Committee, a fully completed copy of the questionnaire on or before June 30th of the current year.
- Based on your submission of the completed questionnaire, the AMLS will determine the type of continuing competency actitvites you will need to undertake.
