DC Circuit Analysis - Part 2 of 3
PRICE GROUP WEBINAR
Webinar Title: DC Circuit Analysis - Part 2 of 3
Webinar No: E02-222W
PDH Credit: 2
Presenter: Foad Alvandi, P.E.
Time: From 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM ET

This engineering online CPD live webinar will establish, through slides and discussions, different aspects of the Direct Current (DC) circuit analysis. This webinar is Part 2 of a 3-part series.
The discussions start with a quick review of Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law, and Kirchhoff’s Current Law, before moving to the explanation of two fundamental theorems of network theory known as Thevenin’s Theorem and its dual known as Norton’s Theorem. These theorems allow the analyst to get rid of the clutter in the circuit and focus on the elements of the circuit that are most relevant to the task at hand. These theorems are also used in converting a voltage source to a current source and vise versa. These are covered in detail along with a number of examples of actual circuits to illustrate these concepts. The coverage continues from there to the principle of superposition and its application to circuit analysis. Next, the power consumption of resistive loads are covered, as well as conditions for maximum power transfer to these loads.
This 2 CPD online live webinar is intended for electrical engineers, as well as design personnel who are interested in learning fundamentals of electrical circuit theory
This PE continuing education live webinar is designed to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Analyze DC circuits of arbitrary complexity using the Thevenin’s and / or Norton’s Theorems
- Apply above theorems to transformation of sources of power in circuits as needed
- Apply superposition principle to break up a complex circuit into several simpler constituent circuits to make the task of circuit analysis more manageable
- Calculate the power consumption of a network of resistive loads
- Determine the conditions for maximum power transfer to resistive loads
