COURSE NO: B02-001
PDH CREDIT: 2
An Introduction to Area Development Plans
Course Highlights

This online engineering PDH course provides an introduction to the ADP process that is commonly used in developing new project sites.  It presents the three processes involved in the preparation of an ADP as well as the data collection, analysis, evaluation and decision tasks that are necessary. It presents graphic examples of how to represent a land area so it can be evaluated and decisions made about a strategy for its development. The planning procedures described are a guide that can be modified to suit specific project requirements. These procedures provide a logical process that can be applied to a broad range of developments in order create a functional, efficient and environmentally sensitive Area Development Plan.

Facilities planning is an essential step in development of land for commercial, industrial, residential and public agency uses.  The three phases of a facilities planning process are: Master Planning, Area Development Planning and Site Planning. This course will focus on one of the three phases:  Area Development Planning (ADP).

This 2 PDH online course is intended for civil engineers, architects, land use planners, designers, developers and construction professionals who are involved in the preparation and implementation of Area Development Plans.
