Erik Norgren

Erik B. Norgren is a seasoned energy professional with over fifteen years of experience in power project development, specializing in natural gas, solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). A licensed Professional Engineer (MN) and Certified Energy Manager, Erik holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. His career has been defined by a strong technical foundation and a commitment to advancing resilient and economically sound energy solutions across multiple U.S. power markets.

Erik currently leads utility-scale BESS development and deployment initiatives, including site prospecting, project acquisitions, and new market origination in the Midwest and Texas (SPP, MISO and ERCOT power markets). In the last five years, he has managed over 1,000 MW of solar and storage assets through permitting, interconnection, and financial close. His leadership in coordinating real estate, permitting, environmental compliance, and technical design has been instrumental in bringing multiple large-scale renewable projects from concept to construction, including hybrid solar-storage installations and industrial decarbonization efforts.

Earlier in his career, Erik spent nearly a decade at developing complex microgrid and natural gas-fired power facilities (cogeneration) and for critical federal infrastructure, including NASA, the Pentagon, and major U.S. military installations. His work consistently focused on energy security, resilience, and cost optimization through innovative technical design and strategic stakeholder collaboration. With a blend of engineering rigor and market insight, Erik continues to drive the transition toward cleaner and more reliable energy systems across North America.
